Premier Inn Colchester (A12)

Very standard Premier Inn. We didn’t opt to have our room cleaned but collected fresh towels each day. Only two story so no lift and we were a long walk from reception beyond 7 fire doors! Our room looked out at the back of the hotel. Not much of a view but nice and quiet. We had air conditioning which was a bonus but only half the rooms do at present so worth asking when you book. Hotel was very clean. Premier Inns usually are. Reception only staffed some of the time but always helpful. There is a separate restaurant next door. We had a nice meal each night and breakfast each morning(no cooked buffet) but we always got we ordered. The restaurant / bar was short staffed throughout our stay but the staff on duty worked jolly hard and kept cheerful. Not a place to dine if you are in a hurry..And parts of the restaurant could do with a general clean and some TLC. The menus is a bit limited and you would soon get fed up if you were staying for a long time. Another time we would probably not opt for the meal package. It is good value but there are plenty of places to eat out. The hotel access brings you into an industrial estate which might be a bit off putting but plenty of parking. Just make sure you register at reception. This hotel is close to the park and ride which gives you easy access to the city centre and near the A12. Would be happy to stay here again

Excellent staff are all so lovely and helpful very clean room restaurant lovely my family and friends came to join me for a meal and we were treated so well staff are exceptional here very pleased with my stay I also stayed here at over Christmas for the first time was great experience very nice place

Great value clean room. TV and complimentary tea coffee. Hot showers. Hotel parking free. Well lit room with a desk. Only stayed one night for an event down the a12 at the Holiday Inn. This place was about half the price of the Holiday Inn so I stayed here instead.

Great location for the football but book a taxi well in advance, Super staff and fantastic comfy bed and a very quiet hotel, The pub next door was good food and drinks but downside it shuts at 10pm but breakfast was a fulfilling way to start the day 👍

Lee and his assistant were excellent couldn't be more helpful in organising another 2 extra days at a more reasonable price , I recommend this Premier Inn to any one staying in Colchester .The rooms are excellent and the beds are superb great nights sleep

Colchester A12 premier inn is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. On arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful with getting us booked in and into our room. The staff all had smiles on their faces and were very welcoming and friendly. Lucy the manager was there and was very helpful with information about things to do in Colchester. Lucy was really polite and seems like she is running the site really well. I would definitely recommend staying at this premier inn. I will be going back soon, thanks Lucy and all staff for making the stay so easy and stress free.
